I began playing the flute at the age of seven, and four years later I had my first important performance - at a children's concert within the 29th International Festival "March Music Days" in Ruse (Bulgaria). In 1990 and 1995 I performed as a soloist of the Ruse Philcharmonic Orchestra with the Mozart’s flute concertos in G and D Major.
I have won the 5th Academic Competition “Nikola Stefanov” in 1998 (Sofia) and have been awarded with several other prizes from Bulgarian competitions. I have graduated the National Academy of Music (Sofia) and the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Zurich). Among my most prominent teachers were Lydia Oshavkova and Matthias Ziegler. In addition, in 2007 I was awarded a scholarship by the City of London Corporation which allowed me to study Music Therapy at the Guilhall School of Music and Drama in London.
Since 1998 I have worked as a flute teacher, orchestra player and performer in numerous chamber music concerts across Bulgaria, Greece, Switzerland, Germany and the UK. Furthermore, I was employed as music therapist at the EL.E.P.A.P Thessaloniki (Greece) - an institution for children and adolescents with special needs.
Apart from the above-mentioned occupations, I have interest in cross-art productions, improvisation and, to some extent, composition. I have collaborated with electronic music artists such as Jérôme Vion, Angel Draganov (a.k.a Polygon Ring) and composer & sound artist Anna Stereopoulou (see the "SYN" review below). In addition, since March 2017 I have been blogging about women artists, aiming to raise the public’s awareness about the female creative force.
